Here a some of the things I consider to be fun, not in any particular order:

Working at Intelligent Paradigm

I love being a software engineer. I really do. I enjoy solving design problems. Fixing bugs. Making things work. And I get paid pretty well to do it!

At IP I work on software for controlling video production systems, quite a departure for where I've been. We like to write Macintosh applications, but we're also dabbling in using BeOS. For more details see the IP home page.

Ultimate

Ultimate, one of the coolest sports ever. Two teams of seven try to pass a disc to their end (most people call discs Frisbee's, but Frisbee is a trademark of Wham-O) Since college I've played ultimate as per the UPA (Ultimate Players Association), and have been a member.

I play regularly with the South Bay's best pickup game, at the Cupertino Library fields Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. All skill levels welcome to play, we have two fields and a whole lot of fun.

ClanLord

Delta Tao is developing an online game, well hey go see about it for yourself. Currently I'm kid of addicted. I play Wisher a Thoom healer in Clan Pogue Mahone. I've got many friends there, and enjoy the escape and adventure found in the game.

Roleplaying

Way back when, my older brother, Darin, came home with a copy of the original D&D blue book and ran B1 for my younger brother and me. I was hooked. Since then I've played in any and every system that I could find.

Currently I'm playing in two worlds and collaborating on another (The Archepelago) with my partner in creation Andy Broer.

Macintosh

I'm a Macintosh biggot. I've used one since 1984 when my brother brought one home from school (the only letter he ever wrote home from school was to get that machine) and I've been an owner and programmer of the machine since I could afford one in '86. Is the the be all end all of computers? Nah, as a matter of fact I agree with Greg Marriott. Computers Suck. Is it the best out there right now? Yep.

Computer Games

I like many kinds of computer games. I usually like puzzle/adventure style games the best. A couple of real time action games have gotten my attention: Marathon, Myth and their progeny by Bungie have bit me. Warcraft, Warcraft II and Starcraft by Blizzard have eaten many hours of my time.

Board Games

Roborallye, Die Seidlers, WizWar, Cosmic Encounters, Kill Dr. Lucky to name a few. I enjoy playing board games.

The main group of friends I play with play what we call silly games. That is, a game that takes under 2 hours to play and has sufficient luck that it's not totally analizable, and requires sufficent skill that there is strategy.

Cards

My family has always played card games at Thanksgiving. Hearts, Spades, Euchre, Double Euchre even some Canasta. In 1995 I learned how to play Bridge. I've played on and off, semi-seriously since. For those who care, we play Modern American (5 Card Majors/Weak 2s), Stayman, Blackwood, Gerber, Jacoby Transfers and Jacoby Steps.
